Hey everybody! Instead of watching stuff on Independence Day, let's do something.
The national Democracy for America has asked that the local chapters participate in the 4th of July parades held that day, and Mason has one of the best. So let's meet at the Mason High School parking lot that night at 6:30 pm.
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!!
Michigan State Representative Barb Byrum is having a BBQ potluck immediately after the parade and we're all invited! Meat, drinks, and table service will be provided; just bring a dish to pass. Following the BBQ we'll be watching the great fireworks at the Ingham County Fairground. The best way to get to the Mason High School is to take US-127 south from Lansing/East Lansing to the KIPP Road exit. Turn left (east), past Meijer's and the railroad tracks, then turn left at Barnes St. and there you are! The parade route fills up fast so be sure to get there early.

Hope to see you there!

W E L C O M E ! ! !
Welcome to the blog created for MMDFA. What is MMDFA you ask? It stands for
Mid-Michigan Democracy for America
It also stands for socially progressive, fiscally reponsible policies and candidates.
My name is Ted Kilvington, and I am the current chair of the group. I plan on using the blog to share the exciting news and activities that our group is involved in. For example, at our July 11th meeting, we will be interviewing Lansing City Council candidate Jonathan Solis on a possible endorsement for the August primary. In the past, we have taken an active involvement in causes and candidates that we endorse, whether it be phone banking for 8th Congressional District candidate Jim Marcinkowski, canvassing for 67th State House district candidate Barb Byrum, or stuffing envelopes for Planned Parenthood.
If you're an active progressive in the greater Mid-Michigan area and you're not on the DFA list already, I'd like to invite you to join at www.dfa-link.com. This is a real blog, so feel free to add your comments or you can e-mail me at vote4kilvington@sbcglobal.net.
LET'S GET ACTIVE!!!
